Selection of individual cells. In this image, a composite pseudocolored image has been generated from the binarized images of each of the fluorescent images from the 13 markers superimposed on a phase contrast image of the same cells. From each pseudocolored composite image 19 cells were selected and numbered. Cells that were chosen were separate from other cells, grossly normal in appearance, and away from the border of the image. Colors were automatically assigned by the TIS software as shown in Fig. 3
